The Mountains
Across the seven continents that comprise Gylranor, there are numerous cordilleras stretching across various regions—dividing countries, setting borders, and offering rugged paths for adventurers and explorers to tread.
Spanning the western side of Barbatius, you’ll encounter the rocky Pellenur Mountains, which overlook the Wood of Dargenohm. Scattered throughout the Eremer Desert are smaller mountain formations, and on its eastern side lies another range, the Yenemerom Mountains, which bleed into the nearby forest.
On Eleimora, the only range widely known to most of Gylranor is the Icy Mountains. These peaks are said to be extremely frigid, dry, and prone to avalanches. Apparently, only Eleimorans can withstand the dangers found there.
Eradell plays host to several ranges. At the top of the continent lie the Rosnian Mountains, which stretch from east to west, separating most of Ni’shorus and Edelas from Masegenethh. They were named after the Primal Rosnios, and mythic tales claim Inilizul’s Throne once sat atop them. Peculiarly, the Rosnian continues beyond Mazgadar’s Strait into Uln Alzor, eventually forming a crescent-like shape known as the Dothdir Crescent, encompassing the Valley of the Thanes.
Like the Rosnian Mountains, the Bol Faras range is split by Mazgadar’s Gateway. These mountains run along the eastern coasts of Uln Alzor, home to many Dwarvic cities, with Mt. Bedafn standing as their highest peak. Lastly, the Helin Mountains run through the southern portion of Nell, nearly reaching the Sea of Briss.
The main island of Hilrayn contains one of the smallest mountain ranges, known as the Celegar Range.
Caralanderbek is the major mountain range within the Naros Archipelago. The Isle of Ssalith is home to the smaller Moss Mountains, while Zille contains the even smaller Urundar Mountains.
Saluron features a single mountain range running from north to south across the island: the Teledar Mountains, which serve as a natural divider between Argoth and Darkwood.
Three mountains can be found on Tinith: Silver, Vethez, and Qamon’zal. The Silver Mountains are the largest on the continent, spanning the regions of Zal’man and Thel Emon, and boasting Tinith’s highest peak, Mt. Gutn’zeg, located in Zal’man territory. The Vethez Mountains are nestled in the Deserted Lands near Veilmarch, while the Qamon’zal Cordillera lies in the far southern reaches of the continent, also within Zal’man.
